Get details about the free extended warranty you'll receive upon completing the Emissions Recall 67A software update.

Coverage period cannot exceed December 31, 2033, for any eligible vehicle that receives Emissions Recall 67A after April 9, 2027.

 

Model Year 2019 Ram 2500 and 3500 pickup trucks with Cummins 6.7L Turbo Diesel engines are included under Emissions Recall VB6.

Under Emissions Recall VB, the warranty extension of certain emissions control system components applies to all 2019 Ram 2500 or 3500 pickup trucks.

The Special Extended Warranty for U.S. vehicles will cover the cost of all parts and labor needed to repair the items listed below for all owners and lessees who receive the reflash. Eligibility is contingent on Stellantis/FCA’s standard terms and conditions, which include eligibility exclusions for accident, abuse, neglect, and tampering. All applicable existing warranty provisions remain in effect.

The following parts are covered:

  • Exhaust and Aftertreatment Components, including:
    • Catalysts
      • Selective Catalyst Reduction (SCR) Catalyst Assembly
      • Ammonia Oxidation Catalyst
    • Sensors
      • NOx Sensors (including Engine Out and System Out)
  • Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) System, including:
    • DEF Injector
    • DEF Injector Controller
    • DEF Storage Tank
    • DEF Delivery Lines
    • DEF Quality Sensor
    • DEF Supply Module, Pump, & Temperature Sensor Unit

Additionally, the Special Extended Warranty will cover the cost of any on-board diagnostic (OBD) scan for malfunctions that trigger the OBD malfunction indicator light (MIL), regardless of whether the malfunction is related to a part covered under the Special Extended Warranty.

Although Cummins does not expect damage to the hardware of the Selective Catalyst Reduction (SCR) controller due to the reflash, if any occurs then Cummins will replace the hardware at no cost to the customer and provide a 2-year parts warranty for the replaced part.

This Warranty Extension coverage period is the greater of: 10 years from the date of initial sale or 120,000 miles on the odometer (whichever comes first); or 4 years or 48,000 miles from date of Emissions Recall completion (whichever comes first), but not to exceed December 31, 2033 for any eligible vehicle that receives the recall after April 9, 2027.

  • Affected owners/lessees should have received a letter from Stellantis/FCA by mail notifying them that the software update for their truck is available and asking them to bring their vehicle into a Stellantis/FCA dealer to complete it.

  • The update takes approximately one hour to complete.

  • The update is being offered to affected owners/lessees free of charge.

  • The Special Extended Warranty coverage begins from the time an affected owner/lessee receives the update and provides additional warranty coverage beyond the standard emissions warranty for a specific list of parts in the engine and aftertreatment system.
  • Eligible owners/lessees should receive warranty coverage documentation in the mail from Stellantis/FCA over the next few months.
  • While Cummins does not have a specific timeline for the mailings, customers can check eligibility status on Mopar’s website by inputting their VIN.
